Throughout the funnel, there are a variety of metrics that matter to marketers. From awareness to consideration to purchase or install, each campaign is optimized toward specific conversions to drive meaningful results. Optimizing, however, can take some time, especially when focused on the bottom of the funnel.

Introducing Engagement Conversions, 3 new default conversions that can be created with the simple click of a button. Engagement Conversions trigger as soon as the Outbrain Pixel is installed to enable instant optimization toward these upper funnel metrics, as well as additional data points to improve optimization tactics for your lower funnel metrics.

What are Engagement Conversions?

The 3 default conversions are Time Spent on Page, Scroll Depth and Clicks. Each of these can be configured based on your specific needs (i.e. Scroll Depth can be 50%, Time Spent on Page can be 45 seconds, etc).

How Can Engagement Conversions Improve My Campaigns?

Engagement Conversions provide a simple way to create “soft” conversions, which may not be the ultimate goal of the campaign, but lead the consumer on the journey through the funnel. By activating these conversions, marketers are providing instant upper funnel optimization opportunities and invaluable insights to strengthen the algorithms used to optimize toward lower funnel conversions, resulting in lift in performance.

How Do Engagement Conversions Work?

Marketers can click the “Activate Engagement Conversions” button in the Conversions tab and the 3 conversions will be created with default settings.

Settings may then be adjusted accordingly.

If the Outbrain Pixel is implemented on the marketer’s landing page, the 3 conversions will start triggering immediately. Marketers are then able to select these conversions in their CBS campaigns as target conversions or supportive conversions.
