How do I set up mobile app conversion tracking with Singular?
In order to track mobile app engagement on your Outbrain campaigns using Singular, please use the following step-by-step guide:
1. Generate your Singular ad URL following the below steps:
- Within Singular, go to Attribution > Partner Configuration
- Type “Outbrain” into the Search Partners text box
- Select your app
- Go to Attribution > Create Link
- Select your app, site, and destination URL
Sample URL:
https://c.singular.net/api/v1/ad?idfa={{idfa}}&aifa={{android_id}}&psid={{section_id}}&psn={{publisher_name}}&cl={{ob_click_id}}&pcid={{campaign_id}}&pcrid={{promoted_link_id}}
2. Share the events you would like to track after postback URLs have been created.
- Under the Event Name column within Singular, you will need to input the event names as they are labeled within the Amplify dashboard. For example, if you call an event “Listing” within Amplify, it must also be added as “Listing” within the Event Name section in Singular.
3. Create the conversion events within the Amplify dashboard. Please note, an “Install” event must also be created.
Once the events have been created in Amplify, they also must be added under the Event Name column within Singular. The naming conventions must be consistent across both platforms. Please note, this step is very important, as Outbrain will only be able to receive correct postback data for conversions if this mapping is done correctly.
4. Campaign is created by you or your designated Outbrain Account Manager based on the Singular ad URL.
Sample URL:
https://appname.sng.link/D4gbg/4590?idfa={{idfa}}&aifa={{android_id}}&psid={{section_id}}&psn={{publisher_name}}&cl={{ob_click_id}}&pcid={{campaign_id}}&pcrid={{promoted_link_id}}
5. In the case you’d like to direct users to a landing page, the landing page URL can be defined using the Link Management tool within Singular.
NOTE: If you are looking to track VTA conversions, you will need to generate an Impression Pixel link which consists of an “impid” macro. In cases where you have a clickId in an impression pixel, make sure to erase it and have only the impid. The “impid” macro structure is as follows:
impid={{impid}}
Here’s How to Implement:
Add the impid parameter to your Impression Pixel as follows:
https://i.sng.link/Dw89z/a6tx?id1440147115?pid=outbrain_int&impid={{impid}}
- Make sure the events in your MMP dashboard match the events in the Amplify dashboard.
- Append Device IDs (“idfa” and “android_id”) in the link for successful impression attribution by the MMP.
